Free Falling

SOMETIMES when I look up at the sky
and think about how far those distances are, it feels like falling.

The visible heaven above, so vast it escapes apprehension... Then I realize... local is relative.

Place is relative to time.

Time seems to us fleeting but time itself is more permanent than places. Think about it.

Time is a veil, an unfolding. Time is the weave upon which each of us must impress the essence of realities more permanent than the impermanence that seem to engulf the temporal universe with great mystery. Forever for us is a work in progress...

Time will lift as a mourning veil come time itself so that if we were to impress upon it sweet and happy things, when the lifting of the veil shall happen and forever itself come at hand...

it shall be amazing.

I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.

One great round

Time is a flow.

Flowing forward for everybody.

For each of us however,
time seems one great round.

For all of time
for all of us
in the absolute sense
is a reconciliation
with ultimate beginnings.

Life is a struggle.

Free will is at the root of this struggle.

Some people would say free will is the root of all evil.

I shall beg to disagree with them.

- selah -

We all live to be free.

Free of what though? Free of our free will?

Shall we shed off time and mortality to find only nothing?

Is this humanity's truest, innermost expectation of the end of time?

Even those who do not believe in the Divine must know there exists evil in this world.

The freedom we must all live for is not the cause of this evil.

- selah -

The root of all evil is evil itself.

That we human beings
must suffer to live our lives through this world
is because there is evil in this world that persists
and shall persist while this world persists.

The Evil in all evil things is the root of all evil.
This Evil is the indirect cause of physical evils.
This Evil is the direct cause of moral evils.

It lies beneath the fabric of all things seen.

- selah -

This is why in this life,
we must struggle.

Not in spite of all that is evil
but in the very midst of it.

Not despite our free will
but precisely because of it.

That we may know once again
how it is to desire to live
in perfect freedom.

That we may together again
regain in original perfection
at the beginning of all things new
the abundant power of our free will.

One great round.

Australia is a laid back Country

Australia is a laid back Country, it is oft said... but what does this mean?

Every undertaking of Country
counts it's days according to it's own rhythm,
giving them form and measure according to its own spirit...
and those who belong to her nationhood
come to feel this passage in their moments intimately,
more and more so by the count of their years.

I would not compare Australia to other Countries...
I have learned to love her as she is... our Australia Fair
(And to judge none - for no nation of ours is without sin
and as such, no undertaking of Country is without salvation)
And though I know a bit of her, having spent some of my time
embraced by her - and in her spirit, soaking in the life,
diversity and remembrance of her varied peoples,
I can not truthfully say I have become blessed enough
to fully appreciate the depth of her spirit as a nation...
for Australia is not only fair, she too is ancient -
the roots of her community, quite vast and quite deep.

BUT this is do know -
and all my family and friends over there may agree:
Australia is a laid back nation, fair dinkum!

And when I say this,
I mean she is a land built with human communities
devoted to much happier, and much deeper human pursuits...
a nation inherently aware of a calling deep within herself,
reaching out together towards horizons a little bit above
that of the mere material... and the obviously temporal
for hers is that spirit that values things that are brighter
and more excellent than just the coin... and the clock
(to the point that civic generosity is sometimes exploited).

So there seems to ALWAYS be time in Australia
(at first, this was admittedly a source of boredom for me)
most especially, moments set aside and devoted
to the quest of other necessary things besides money...
(her shops close uncomfortably early, specially on weekends).

And this, according to yours truly, is why she is perceived
by her other kindred nations to be easy and laid back in her nature -
because it is part and parcel of her inherent wealth and wisdom
and so Australia keeps her time and treasures accordingly -
time for family, time for friends, time for mateships enough to mature
time for nature, time for fun and sports, time for learning a craft or a cure,
time for worship, time for politics, time for sacred remembrances to endure
time in abundance, time welling up from the dreamtime - plenitude!
Time enough for the benefit and enrichment of all Australians.

Beyond the Ticks and the Tocks

Where is time found?

Is time behind us, can we look back
and see a stretch of past time disappearing
far, far back into the millions of years ago?

Where is time found?

Is time in front of us, can we gaze into the future
and see all the tomorrows that lay ahead of our hearts
far, far unto the unmade way of our lives in every moment born
from all those limitless horizons along the forever path?

Where is time found...
when it is neither behind us nor in front of us
but everywhere surrounding us?
Bursting forth from the abundant activity of our souls,
arising from the face of the deep, growing by God's nurture,
from each and every spirit that gives it breath
time is - in every moment we realize and recognize
the truth - from the timeless in all our very human hearts,
and all truth illuminated from the brightness shining in our spirits,
giving form and shape to the realities that arise everywhere about us
surrounding all that surround the totality of the human experience
like a great and mysterious chrysalis...

Where is time found...
but in all those moments without count?
Where does the timeless remembrance of time remain
after all the darkness in our eyes has fled forever into oblivion
but in the infinite and in the beautiful, in the loving and in the kind,
in the brave and in the strong, in the good and in the free,
and in everything that is faithful and true
and worth embracing forever.

Can time for us ever be a measure of distance?
Is the passing of our generations but a barrier and a wall
that creates separation and void between our ages and our years...

Alas! Is time an evil set against us?

Nay, my darling Starshine -
Not when time is an account of the heart.
For time seems distant only to those with distant hearts.

For all of time is Now, 'tis a nearness!
So shine thee the light of thy love, impress it in each moment and see
that you may from thy own illumination know and understand
from all thy comings and the goings, and despite of it -
what ever goes and what forever remains.

Salutation #176

THINK about time...
how we both have it and we don't.

(Time is a Nearness)

Starshine, listen -

Time as it was intended
and time as we humans have intended it
are two very different things -

Time in its entirety is an ascent,
it is a shedding away, it is an unveiling
and has everything to do with right remembrance
and the power of Truth -

BUT
time as a human construct is a rote and linear thing,
meant to insert upon the unimaginably vast folds of time,
a limit and a count to make it more comprehensible
to our littleness...

- selah -

When we humans allow ourselves
to become unwitting slaves to our own constructs
we place our human limits within these artificial limits
we have likewise originally placed for ourselves
in order to gain a knowledge of the wonder of greater things
humility then turns to pride - and time for each of us -
becomes a measure of physical distance
instead of a measure of nearness
and of spirit brightness.

BUT
time is much more than just its segments
and our humanity, in all our littleness certainly,
though intended to ultimately be masters of time,
never were its Author nor its Source nor its Truth.

And in this thought, surely there is hope.
